SESSION ONE - February 15 / 1-3 PM

De-Colonizing Our Food with Linda Black Elk

The kick-off  to the Food is Medicine series will discuss de-colonization of our food and the impact of food on our health and body.

SESSION TWO - February 24 / 1-3 PM

Waaboozwaaboo (rabbit stew) with Bruce Taylor

Learn how to snare a rabbit, clean and cook a rabbit and the nutrition benefi ts of rabbit for our bodies.

SESSION THREE - March 8 / 1-3 PM

Waabishkiskawe (white fi sh) with Brandon Neadeau & TBD

Learn how to smoke and bake white fi sh, as well as the nutritional value to our bodies.

SESSION FOUR - March 22 / 1-3 PM

Manoomin & Giingoo (wild rice & fi sh) with Kevin Hart, Jr.

Learn about harvesting and processing of wild rice, and how to cook wild rice in combination with fi sh as part of a healthy body diet.

SESSION FIVE - April 5 / 10-11:30 PM

Iskigamizigan (sugar bush) with David Manuel

Experience the (traditional & contemporary) gathering and processing of maple syrup/sugar and how this natural sugar product is healthier for our bodies.

SESSION SIX - April 19 / 1-3 PM

Mashkode bizhiki (buff alo) with Tharen Stillday & Cherilyn Spears

Learn the variety of uses for Buff alo and how our bodies are impacted by eating indigenous foods from our region.
